River & Town
Caruthersville on the Mississippi, and a wild lowland lake to the north.

Caruthersville Water Tower
Built in 1902–03 and shaped like a lighthouse, the old water tower no longer supplies the city but remains Caruthersville’s symbol. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.
Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville
A riverboat casino on the Mississippi with more than 500 gaming machines and table games, a hotel, and a year-round RV park by the water. Must be 21 to gamble.
Wolf Bayou (Black Island Conservation Area)
One of Missouri’s last natural lowland lakes, a designated natural area with bald cypress and four bayous totaling 43 acres. Fish for white bass, catfish, crappie, and black bass; only electric motors are allowed. When the Mississippi is at or above 28 feet on the Caruthersville gauge, the area is open only for fishing and waterfowl hunting by boat. Take the Wardell exit off I-55, the east outer road south to Route BB, and BB over the levee to its end. Open daily 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
